Hello everyone. I used Ghost to make an image file of winXP, and now I want to burn it to a CD for storage. But the winXP image file is too large and won't fit on one CD. Is there any way around this? I'd greatly appreciate any advice. Thank you, thank you!

When you use ghost, add the parameter
ghost -split=700 (assuming your CD capacity is 700M) Then ghost will automatically split it into 700M parts. When restoring, just run ghost and go in order. |

Sheesh... actually, when installing WINXP, right before it's about to finish and restart to begin detecting hardware devices, you can exit the installation and GHOST it. At that point the files will fit nicely onto one CD.

If you're doing it that way, you might as well do Start → Run → sfc.exe /purgecache (if all your hardware and software is already installed properly). That can knock off about 3xxM. Also turn off System Restore and delete the old restore points.
That's what I do: after installing the commonly used software, I use ghost (high compression), and it's only 69xM. |
