Hello, expert, I'm really a complete computer newbie, and when it comes to DOS I truly don't know a thing, I just want to come here and learn!
I've never really figured out the difference between the DOS under WIN9X and DOS6.2. |

Bumping this up, it's been so long and still no one has answered.
I misspoke, what I meant was, what's the difference between DOS6.62 and the MS-DOS under WIN9X? |

They're both MS's DOS, it's just a matter of version differences. The DOS in win9x is dos7.10

The DOS in WIN9X added support for FAT32 and long filenames. Also, using config commands like filehige, installhigh, bufferhigh can further save conventional memory.

There is an old computer at my workplace, DOS version 6.20, OS is WINDOWS FOR GROUPS3.11; another one has WIN98 installed, and if you run “COMMAND” and then press “ALT+RETURN”, its version shows as WINDOS98 VER4.1. Is the former what people call pure DOS??? Why doesn't the latter display the MS-DOS version number?
