The Partition table is located at cylinder 0/head 0/sector 1 of the hard disk. Its purpose is to indicate the areas used by different operating systems in the hard disk. The recording method is to mark the start and end cyl/head/sec numbers of the used area and the total number of sectors used. Each partition table can only hold four partition records.
The location of FAT is after the boot sector of the dos partition, that is, starting from absolute sector 1. There are two copies, and normally the contents of the two copies should be the same. The number of sectors occupied by FAT varies depending on the disk capacity, and it is recorded in the boot sector. FAT has two types, 12 bits FAT and 16 bits FAT, depending on the number of bits used by its index. 12 bits FAT is mostly used on floppies now.
A cluster is composed of a certain number of sectors. For example, on a 1.2 mb floppy, one cluster is one sector. The first cluster may not exist, and its number starts from 2. The position starts from after the root directory.
ps. Track and cylinder can be considered the same thing, but in hard disks it is mostly called cylinder, and in floppies it is called track.
