Hello, all you experts!!
I'm a complete newbie, so please give me some guidance!!!
I'd like to ask, why did drive E automatically become the XP installation disc?
My system is XP!!!! In the text below, drives F and E both refer to hard drive partitions.
Yesterday, under DOS, I copied all the files from the XP system onto drive E!
As a result, when I looked in Windows XP, drive E had turned into the XP installation disc!!!
And even the icon changed into the XP setup icon! As soon as I double-click drive E, it starts the installer automatically!!!
If I want to enter drive E, I can only do it by right-clicking drive E and then clicking "Open" to see the files on drive E.
After I entered drive E, I deleted the XP files, but things were still the same, nothing changed!!!

I copied all the files from the XP system onto drive E!
That is what caused this result.
Because of the function of these two files: autorun.ini and winxp.ico
If you really want to know, search for articles like "how to make a hard drive also have autorun functionality".
