It's a good habit to do `dir` first and then `cd`.

Please confirm that your Windows directory is in the current directory. If not, you need to use the "/d" parameter of the cd command and an absolute path, for example:
cd /d c:\windows |

The `cd` command in DOS does not have the `/d` parameter.
