I read an article about installing pure DOS under XP. The boot information and DOS system files are all on drive C.
But if drive C is NTFS, will it still work? |

I saw some software online that lets DOS support NTFS.
Can they be used to make it work? |

no, that only lets DOS read and write NTFS partitions...

Then it looks like I have to change drive C first.
But I originally made a ghost image of drive C under NTFS. If I use FAT32, will it still recognize it when I restore the image? |

No...
Use PQ to split 200m off C, then under DOS use spfdisk to create another FAT primary partition and install DOS there. It won’t affect your current system... |

That’s really a good suggestion!! I’m going to do it right now.
Thanks, master. |

Anything involving hard disk partitions should be handled carefully.
I don’t encourage everyone to do this on a hard disk with important materials on it. If it’s on a hard disk you don’t care about even if it gets formatted, then do as you like... |

“No...

ko20010214’s reminder is right, partitioning is an operation that needs to be treated cautiously. Once something goes wrong, even killing yourself would be too late. If I were going to partition, I’d definitely back up the whole drive first, that’s the only way I’d feel 100% safe!
