Ladies and gentlemen, I'm a novice. I really want to learn the application of DOS, but after entering DOS, I don't know how to operate, and I don't know how to exit. I have to restart, which makes me confused. I hope to first understand how to exit.

There is a key not on the keyboard called the power switch. Or download a shutdown.exe, the DOS version.

Restarting and shutting down are two ways to exit the operating system. What's wrong with that? Windows and Unix are also like that.
LZ, DOS is also an operating system!

Can't you exit from DOS by entering a command?

Of course, there are many external commands for restarting or shutting down, such as poweroff, reboot, shutdown, etc.

I entered DOS from the bootable CD. Can I say that I can't go back from DOS to the bootable CD?

Back to the bootable CD? You mean the menu of the bootable CD? The simplest way is to reboot, and restarting is the simplest way to reboot.

I see, thank you, Brother Michael. I don't have to worry about breaking the computer in the future.

Some bootable CDs have similar commands, such as shutdown, reboot.

DOS doesn't care about shutting down (the concept of shutting down was introduced after Windows). As long as you are at the prompt, you can directly turn off the power.

I remember there used to be a PARK command (probably in PCTOOLS) that moves the head to a safe position before shutting down.
