I just started learning DOS, and I want to know how software under DOS is generally registered? Thanks!

Some require entering a registration code. Some require entering an installation ID. Some do (keyfile) file verification. Some write some seemingly weird strings into a specific area of the hard disk. Moderator wengier has also dealt with the registration of some DOS software when using DOS software, like DAO, RD-DOS, and so on. If you're interested, you can ask her.
