I saw in the top - stick post that if the main partition of the hard disk (usually drive C) is in NTFS format, it is not possible to directly install DOS because DOS does not directly support the NTFS format. At this time, some multi - boot managers can be used, such as SPFDISK. After setting up the system partition with the multi - boot manager, directly installing MS - DOS 7.10 can realize co - existence with WinNT/2K/XP. What does it mean by "setting up the system partition with the multi - boot manager" mentioned above? Is it using SPFDISK to convert NTFS to FAT32? Or is it some other operation?

My drive C is NTFS and the rest are FAT32. Is it okay if I install DOS under drive D?

It means that use a multi-boot manager to set other partitions (non-NTFS) as the boot partition (requiring that other partitions must be primary partitions), then restart the computer, and then install.

SPFDISK can generate a multi-master partition boot menu, and you can freely choose to boot from a certain master partition during startup!

Using a virtualization software is sufficient.

You can try System Commander, I feel it's very useful.

SPFDISK can directly divide a hard disk into a maximum of 4 primary partitions (or 3 primary partitions plus multiple logical partitions, and it is best that the number of primary partitions does not exceed 1024 cylinders, otherwise it may not boot).

Then the operating systems installed in each primary partition do not affect each other. What you mentioned about coexistence should be installing multiple systems on the same primary partition (the second system may be installed in drive D, but the boot part is still in drive C).
