Under DOS you don't need a graphics card driver. But things like SDD can improve display performance.

My system is DOS 6.22 + UCDOS 3.1. Most of the time the display is black and white, but after rebooting repeatedly it is sometimes in color again. I also installed dual boot + Win98, and when I enter Win98 it is always in color. What is the reason?

That should be because UCDOS's display settings are wrong. First boot into pure DOS, for example MS-DOS 7.10, then run UCDOS (preferably a higher version, such as 7.0) and adjust the settings.
