Please have an expert advise me on this: how can I copy the system installation files from the CD to the hard disk? (Using the DIR command cannot display system files.)

A simple way is that xcopy in MS-DOS 7.10 can copy system and hidden files; just add the /h parameter.

Just copy it from under DOS, but you need to be clear about the path.
