My C drive is Windows 2000, and I want to install DOS on the D drive. How should I do it to have a boot selection menu when starting up? Thanks.

It's not the case. Most OSes can only be installed in the primary partition (using drive letters to represent them is not precise. I can also let you install it in "Drive D", but this Drive D is not your Drive D). The so-called which partition you install DOS/Windows in actually refers to which partition you install the applications or core files it comes with in. The file responsible for booting must be in the primary partition (usually what is called Drive C). According to the principle that installing Win98 first and then Win2000 can generate the NTLDR boot menu, then I wonder if you install DOS first and then Win2000 can also generate a boot menu? It can be done. Now many partitioning software can divide up to four primary partitions. After dividing, you can randomly set which one is the boot partition, and then you can install the system on this partition. Just install a boot partition management software after installation. In this way, a menu will appear when booting to choose which system to enter. I use it like this, and it's completely fine.

You can use GRUB to boot DOS on drive D. To install DOS to drive D, you just need to enter "SYS D:" under DOS, which will transfer the DOS system files to drive D! As for other files, it depends on you!
