Last time I mentioned that hdcopy has a fatal weakness, namely that it must have a real floppy drive in order to run.
This time it is the turn of our clever IMG extractor to appear!
eim's full name is easy image, a domestic product.
The interface after running is shown in the picture below.
Very similar to RAR's interface, right?! To be honest, many excellent domestic software interfaces were made by imitating several classic DOS tools.
At the very top is the directory (you can see that it does not support long filenames)
On the left is the file list, listing file name, size, date, time
On the right is the information box, divided into top, middle, and bottom.
The top is version information, including software name, version, copyright, author
The middle is the IMG file information area. If an IMG file it recognizes is selected, it will show which version of which software this IMG file was made by. For example, one made by hdcopy1.7 will show information such as hdcopy 1.7.
The bottom is disk information: disk volume label, number of subdirectories in the current directory, number of files in the current directory, and the number of bytes occupied by the files in the current directory.
At the very bottom are the operation function keys! The most important.
In order they are

help | drive | view | Extra | Copy | Move | Write | Delete |Sort |Shell
F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 F7 F8 F9 F10

The Chinese meaning is:
Help | Disk (change drive letter) | View | Extract | Copy | Move | Write | Delete | Sort | Shell

Of course, F1 has been defined as the shortcut key for help in most software! This is the same even in the windows series.
F2 is for changing the drive letter, that is, you use it when you want to switch from the current drive to another drive! For example, from C drive to D drive, E drive, and so on.
F3 calls its built-in viewer to view files.
F4 is the main event! This is the main function of this software. Extract IMG files into a certain directory on the disk. Generally, by default it automatically creates a directory under the current directory using the IMG filename as the name! Note that it extracts to the hard disk, not to the floppy drive! This is what is lovely about this software.
F5 to F8 are all not commonly used, and are for managing files. Very simple, no need to say more.
F9 is for sorting files. Sometimes when you want to quickly find a certain file, sorting files is a good idea.
F10 Since DOS is a single-operation-task system (generally speaking, DOS is a single-task operating system), some DOS programs developed this function. The shell can let you temporarily return to the DOS prompt to perform ordinary DOS operations without exiting this software itself. When you want to return to this software's interface, just type exit at the DOS prompt. Sometimes it is also quite useful.

I forgot to say, how do you exit this software? Press the ESC key and it will ask whether you want to exit; then press and it exits.

OK, this software is called easy image, it is so easy that I do not need to say much more...
Shortcomings: easy also has another meaning, "simple", and the shortcoming of this software is also that it is a bit too simple. Its support for IMG file formats is not very complete. But generally IMG files made with hdcopy can all be unpacked. Also, it only unpacks IMG files onto the hard disk, and cannot emulate a floppy drive for use!

I want it too, but I think there should be a download on kickout's FTP.
I went to his FTP to look around, and it turned out it was hiding in the My Soft\dostool\CCDOS\TOOL\ directory. It was hidden so deep; if you don't look carefully you won't find it. That simg.exe is also in there.
Sometimes looking at the signature of the person who posted is also very useful. Pretty smart, aren't I? Hehe... I should also go make a signature to play with.
