Dear experts:

Recently, I made some bootable CDs. Some of the tools need to be made into boot images (*.img), such as converting *.exe format to *.img format; but I encountered some *.com format executable files, and it always fails to start successfully;

The idea is: 4 boot files under the boot disk + tool *.com + automatic batch processing program

The problem is: How does this automatic batch processing program load the *com file? (I tried to load it directly and it didn't work!)

I don't quite understand what you're trying to say.

Are you going to add some tool files to the IMG file? It's not converting EXE to IMG, right?? I've never heard of such a thing.

If you want to add tool files to the IMG file, you can use the winimage software, which can conveniently create disk image files (IMG files). Both EXE and COM tools are okay.

As for loading the COM file in the autoexec.bat (auto-execution batch file), just write the file name of the COM file into the content of autoexec.bat. You said it can't be loaded? Is it because the COM file still has some auxiliary files to call and you haven't put them in the IMG file together? Or does the COM file need to run in a specific environment?

This *com file, referred to as DN, is unknown in the new era of DOS; it is a resource management software under DOS.

Since I don't know if this software is complete after decompression, there is only one executable file: DN.COM. Then I loaded this file according to the example, but it couldn't run. I suspected that the auto - batch was written wrong, but other *.exe executable files can run with the same batch. Then it shows that the problem is between the suffix name *.com and *.exe???
