I don't have an MP3, but since MP3 is also a USB drive, I think it should be okay. Just download a USBoot software to easily make a bootable disk.

This is not necessary. As long as the motherboard supports USB HDD booting, there are no special requirements for the USB flash drive. If you want to achieve floppy disk emulation or ZIP booting, you need to use a special USB flash drive.

What Michael said is correct. Now most brands of USB flash drives and MP3 players support USB booting. As long as you use a suitable boot disk creation tool, there is no need to use a bootable USB flash drive at all. Some motherboards claim to support USB booting, but actually they don't. I had a computer like that before. The BIOS boot options showed a bunch of USB devices, but in reality, none of the USB devices could boot successfully. And the computer I'm using now fully supports USB booting.
