I have two hard disks, A and B. I copied the downloaded DOS 6.22 files to hard disk B, and booted with hard disk B as the primary disk,
but it would not boot. Then I formatted the partition on hard disk B, and used SYS to transfer the system boot files to the partition on hard disk B. Then I copied the DOS 6.22 files from hard disk A to the partition on hard disk B! Booting with hard disk B as the primary disk works! But when I run FDISK, it shows "Incorrect DOS version" Why is this happening? |

The version doesn't match. Try the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk I made; it fully supports large hard disks, FAT32 partitions, and long filenames:
http://newdos.yginfo.net/dosware/mdos71bd.zip It includes Free FDISK 1.20, supporting extra-large hard disks up to 180G. |
