I'm a new rookie, coming to ask you all for advice.
Taking advantage of the weekend, I want to reinstall the system completely. Planning to install a triple boot of DOS6.22 (or 7.*), 98SE, and 2KSERVER. After reading the moderator's "How to Get Pure MS-DOS 7.10" article, I have some clues. But there's no floppy drive on my machine (I threw it away when I updated the machine two years ago), only a CDROM and CD-RW, so it's impossible to boot from a floppy to install DOS. The current one is 98 + 2K, and the other day I deleted the WINDOWS directory on the disk where 98 is located to free up hard disk space, so the 98 system is disabled Then, I want to ask, can I use the 98 system installation CD to boot to install permanent DOS7.1, and then add multiple systems like 97, 98, 2K on this basis? If it's feasible, do I need to download anything on the http://www.cn-dos.net/newdos/doswarea.html page? (Or, can I burn a DOS boot CD? ) Another thing: For multiple booting, is it necessary to have things like SYSTEM COMMAND? Thanks |

Booting from a CD is exactly the same. If the Windows directory is deleted, first use sys to create the boot files, then copy other files of DOS 7.1, and it should work.
Multi-booting is completely没问题, but it requires third-party software for management. System is the Windows system folder, which DOS doesn't have. Command is a basic file of DOS. MS-DOS series are indispensable. If you refer to the Command folder, it contains various program files of DOS 7.1. |

When installing multiple boots, it is recommended to use SPFDISK.
