Then that means the SYS command is unavailable at that time (there is no such command in the path specified by PATH). Try booting the system with the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk I made, then run the SYS command: http://newdos.yginfo.net/dosware/mdos71bd.zip

That means the system can't find the sys command. You have to add it to the PATH directory; only then will it work. you can try.

That's because the MS-DOS 7.10 boot disk I made contains the file SYS.COM. But that so-called boot disk does not.
