First of all, thanks to all you brothers for setting up such a good DOS forum. It was almost ten years ago that I was still using DOS, and now... now I've decided to return, because I'm very annoyed by Windows' endless greed for hardware.
I'd like to ask: 1, among the various DOS systems besides MS-DOS, which one is relatively better? I mean one that is compatible with MS-DOS and MS Windows (at least Win3x) commands and software, while using few resources, and at the same time having more features? Or how should different DOS systems be combined? I don't really want to use MS-DOS, because I want to get rid of it completely, along with all the troubles it brings (for example, viruses)
2, among the various DOS shells, is Win3x the best? I see there seem to be several alternatives too, but I don't know how they are, for example drivers, Chinese support, etc.?
3, is there a good office suite? It would be best if it could support lossless two-way conversion with Word97\Word2000, since after all everyone uses them. Of course Chinese support is necessary.
Looking forward to the experts' answers. I already can't wait to dig out my 486.
Thanks
