Hello:
I am a novice. After I installed a Windows 2000 Professional edition system, I want to install another DOS.
I downloaded the MSDOS 7.10 version from your introduction, and there are several files in it that I don't understand.
Then I entered the DOS system with the CD, and I copied the downloaded DOS program to the C drive.
I found a file called DI.EXE. When I opened it under DOS, the following screen appeared:
DiskImager 1.1, Copyright (C) 1999 by Port Jackson Computing

DI

Source or Destination diskdrive
Name of file to create or read
/R Restore to
/S Create SelF-eXtracting image (.EXE)
I want to ask if I have any operation problems?
Can you simply tell me how to correctly install DOS?
I'm a bit stupid!

I've seen that content, but I'm a bit unclear. So I downloaded it and don't know how to install it. There's a part in it that says: If WinNT/2K/XP is already installed in the system, and then installing MS-DOS 7.10, the installer usually automatically makes a dual boot of DOS and WinNT/2K/XP. After MS-DOS 7.10 is successfully installed, the dual boot menu will automatically appear when the system starts. Select "MS-DOS 7.10" in the menu to enter the installed MS-DOS 7.10, which is very safe, simple and easy. My system has 2000 installed, and then I downloaded MEDOS7.10, and then entered DOS under the CD to install, but I just don't know how to install it? Did I miss something? Can you explain it clearly?

It has already been said inside, just boot directly with the made DOS installation CD to install. Note that you should use the correct method to burn it to make a bootable CD.

Do you mean to make the files inside into a CD and then directly boot from the disk for installation? Besides CDs and floppy disks, is there a DOS system that can be installed directly from the installation program?

I have the same problem as you. It seems to be using a software called hdcopy to expand the image file to a floppy disk and then install it!

Yes, in short, you just need to extract the image file to a floppy disk or CD-ROM and then install it. As for the methods to extract to a floppy disk or CD-ROM, there are many, for example, you can use HD-COPY, WinImage and other methods to extract the floppy disk image.
