1. Change the hardware configuration
When you lose the CMOS password, you can first try changing the machine's hardware and then rebooting, because if the system finds at startup that the new hardware configuration is different from the original one, it may allow you to enter CMOS directly for reconfiguration without needing a password. The method of changing the hardware configuration is very simple: for example, remove one memory module, or install a different model of CPU (of course the motherboard must support it), replace the hard disk, etc. 2. Create your own password-cracking file A. After the system self-test is complete and it is about to boot Windows, press the F8 key, choose "Safe mode command prompt only" (safe command mode), then at the DOS prompt type COPY CON YK.COM. After pressing Enter, in the editing environment enter: ALT+179、ALT+55、ALT++136、ALT+216、ALT+230、ALT+112、ALT+176、ALT+32、ALT+230、ALT+113、ALT+254、ALT+195、ALT+128、ALT+251、ALT+64、ALT+117、ALT+241、ALT+195 then press F6 to save. Note: when entering the above data, first hold down the ALT key, then press the numeric keypad keys (the top row of number keys on the keyboard will not work). After finishing one number sequence, release the ALT key, then hold ALT again to enter the next sequence... During input, each time you release ALT, a garbled character will appear on the screen; just ignore it. After saving and exiting, run the file YK.COM directly. There should be no prompt information on the screen, then reboot the computer and the password in CMOS can be cleared. Of course, the other settings in CMOS will also be cleared at the same time, so they will need to be set again. B. After choosing safe command mode at startup, type COPY CON YK.COM, then in the editing environment enter: ALT+176、ALT+17、ALT+230、p、ALT+176、ALT+20、ALT+230、q、ALT+205、空格 then press F6 to save, run this file, and reboot the computer. 3. DEBUG method At the DOS prompt, run DEBUG and then enter: —o70 18 —o71 18 —q or —o70 21 —o71 21 —q After returning to the DOS prompt, reboot the computer and the CMOS password will be completely cleared. Please note that 70 and 71 are the two CMOS ports; we can write some wrong data to them at will (such as 20, 16, 17, etc.), and that will destroy all the settings in CMOS. If you have time, you might as well try a few more values. 4. Universal passwords If someone has set the security option in COMS to system, then every time you boot you must enter the correct password. Otherwise, not only can you not enter Windows, you cannot even enter DOS, so then we can only rely on universal passwords to solve the problem. AMI BIOS: AMI ;Sysg AWARD BIOS: award ; Syxz; h996; wantgirl;eBBB ; dirrid 。 The above universal passwords are almost always effective for cracking CMOS passwords on 386, 486, and Pentium motherboards, but they are not so effective on PII-class or newer motherboards. There are very few universal passwords that can crack newer motherboards above PII level; I have hardly heard of any. However, your little brother found one password—abaubjao—which has already successfully cracked the CMOS passwords on more than ten motherboards including the Chaintech 6ATA4 (PIII), Weige MVP4 (K6—2), Benchi 160A, 160A+ (PIII), etc. I dare not keep it to myself, so I offer it here to everyone. 5. Use software tools On the Internet you will find no shortage of software that can crack CMOS passwords. I think the best software is Biospwds. It is a small program made by a German. To use it, you only need to lightly click the "Get passwords" button, and your CMOS password will be fully displayed on the screen. In addition, you can also see BIOS version, time, and other information. If conditions permit, you can download it from www.geocities.com/mbockelkamp. 6. Discharge If your luck is really bad and you still cannot crack the CMOS password using the above methods, then this is the only road left. Open the motherboard manual, find the jumper for clearing CMOS settings, and change its shorting method according to the manual to clear CMOS. What, your motherboard is too old and has no such jumper? Then take out the button battery on the motherboard. Why won't it boot after discharging? Put the battery back in, dummy! |

I've seen it too, but I'll still bump it! To support the OP's work! And also reinforce my memory!
