I downloaded a FreeDOS image from the FreeDOS site, and downloaded its installation boot disk from "New DOS Era". During installation it always gives 'Error writing KERNEL32.SYS' (I'm using FAT32). I don't know why. Also, how do I modify the config.sys and autoexec.bat files on drive C:? Can anyone teach me the specific steps for installing from the hard disk?

Or you can manually delete the KERNEL.SYS file on the boot disk, and rename the KERNEL32.SYS file to KERNEL.SYS to support FAT32. Modifying CONFIG.SYS and other files is easy, just use the EDIT command directly.

I'll give it a try. freedosbeta9 may be relatively new, so it's hard to install !
