NTFS for DOS mainly has the following three major problems:
1: It uses too much memory (usually over 130K); 2: It is not very stable; 3: It does not support Chinese long filenames. DOSLFN is different: it uses little memory, is stable and practical, and fully supports Chinese long filenames. |

I have NTSF 4.0 Pro for dos, the read/write version, an NTFS drive driver for DOS that supports long filenames. It seems that under pure DOS it is the only driver that can read and write NTFS drives (size about 3M; I still haven't found any other NTFS software with read/write capability, especially the kind that can be added to a boot disk). I also found an Ntfsdos.exe (V2.02R+, only 27K), but it is read-only.
Although DOSLFN supports Chinese long filenames, it can't drive NTFS. Does anyone have a better NTFS drive driver? Could you upload it? Thanks! |

Where can I download the read/write version of NTSF 4.0 Pro for dos? Could you explain how to use it? I often have to boot the computer with a floppy disk and read contents under NFSF. Which software tool is good to use now?

I found a piece of software called NTFS4DOS that can read and write files on NTFS partitions. Put on a boot floppy or USB drive, it's about 900 KB.
It's just that when using the free version, you first have to type yes to agree to the EULA. For details see http://www.datapol.de/en If anyone has even better software that supports NTFS read/write, don't forget to share~~~ |
