fdisk is a partitioning command. Using FDISK E is definitely incorrect. It should be FORMAT E: instead.

If you want to format drive C, just use format c:/u. If you want to use drive C as the system drive, then use format c:/s/u.

Now it's that no disk can be formatted. The prompt:
Invalid media type reading drive C Abort,Retry,Fail? What does this mean? And how to solve it? I'm making a system now, and I can't format now. Can't do anything! |

Are you under pure DOS? What partition was your original one, NT or FAT?

Boot the machine with a 98 boot disk, then at the prompt, type cd g:\win98 (assuming your CD - ROM is drive G), and then you can use the format command.

It turned out to be an NT system. I used the 2000 disk to delete the C, D, and E partitions. Then I used the 98 installation disk to partition. After partitioning, when formatting the hard drive, the above English was prompted. My command was format c:/u

Can the NT system recognize 98? You'd better first use a 2000 disk to format all partitions with the FAT format, and then use a 98 disk to re-partition and re-format. It's okay if you don't re-partition. You can try it!!!

Press F a few more times. After there is no A.R.F prompt, you can format.

Can it work? Press F, I will also try it later! I have encountered this kind of problem several times before, and finally it got better by using DM full format. This problem is really strange!

Pressing F probably won't work? I haven't used it, Abort,Retry,Fail? Here, A means Abort, R means Retry, and F means Fail.

It is also possible that there is a problem with the hard disk if it cannot be formatted. Try re - partitioning and formatting with DM.
