Under Windows Me, after MeDOS is installed successfully, you can directly type “MEDOS” in the “Start”->“Run” dialog box to bring up the system switching menu and choose your system startup mode. After entering MS-DOS real mode, you can also just type “MEDOS” at the command prompt. Type “MEDOS /?” to view help information, and “MEDOS /U” to uninstall this program.

As everyone knows, Microsoft removed support for DOS real mode in Windows Me. This is really very inconvenient for many users who like the speed and convenience of Windows Me but do not want to give up DOS real mode. Perhaps many friends have already used a program written by a foreigner called “Real DOS-Mode Patch”, which works by modifying three system files and loading the startup process in Autoexec.bat and Config.sys. MeDOS, on the other hand, uses the principle that a Windows Me startup floppy can enter DOS real mode, and maps it to hard disk booting to achieve this. It will absolutely not affect the files needed for normal startup of Windows Me. At any time after entering the system, you can type the “medos” command in the Run dialog box or at the MS-DOS command prompt to bring up the system switching menu and choose your system startup mode.
You can run some software or games under Windows Me DOS real mode that require Config.sys to be configured in order to work. You only need to switch to DOS real mode first, then directly edit Config.sys or overwrite the original file with a prewritten Config.sys and restart the system. ( If you directly modify Config.sys in Windows, it will be cleared after restarting. )
Since this software runs completely in DOS mode, it will not write any data into your Windows system. If you do not want to keep using it, just run the uninstall command provided by the software itself.

It seems Windows ME doesn't have pure DOS, right!!!!

To be exact, you cannot enter pure DOS mode under Win ME If you want to enter pure DOS, then you need to download and run the DOS real-mode patch when restarting press F8 and choose... pretty much the same as W98
