I don't know whether installing 2000 under XP will work. But I did install 2000 after already having 98 before.
The method was: after you have 98, reboot and set it to boot from the CD-ROM drive. Then install it by booting from the win2000.XP installation disc. After it's installed, you'll find that 98 and win2000.xp are not on the same partition! Your hard disk has to have two partitions! |

So that means the XP system files go on one drive, say drive C,
and the 2000 system files go on D or G or F. Right? |

Which system do you want to install? A DOS system? If it's a DOS system, then just install it directly.
