I know very little about DOS. I came here after a friend's recommendation. I want to start learning from the very basics, but I don't know where to start. I'd like to ask all the experts here for some guidance, thanks.

The command prompt in XP is emulated DOS, and it supports many DOS commands, so you can learn in there. For real DOS, please go to the link pointed out by the moderator to download it. |

It's virtual DOS. Press the Windows key + R, then type command, don't type cmd.

Under XP, when formatting a floppy disk, select "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" at the same time, then boot from the floppy; what you get seems to be real DOS
