The following is the statement by kevin882 on 2004-1-26 13:08:01:
Wengier: Is it that after reinstalling DOS, you change it by entering the root directory of drive C in DOS? Because I now
find C:\BOOT.INI in the WIN2000 environment!
Excuse me, what command should be used to open BOOT.INI for modification after installing DOS??

Who can help me!!!!!

BigFlower: If you want to install on the hard disk, unzip DOS71_1.ZIP and DOS71_2.ZIP into the same folder, not different folders. As for Add-On, it is optional content, that is, you can install it if you want, and not install it if you don't want.

kevin882: You can use the EDIT command to open C:\BOOT.INI, but to edit it, you need to first remove the attribute with ATTRIB.

Is it about learning to install DOS and then making changes? I can't find this file in my current Windows!

kevin882: This file is hidden! That is, a file with the hidden attribute. In WIN, you can see it by selecting "Show all files".

Ask the moderator! I've installed 7.10, but as soon as I boot up it's DOS. How do I enter Windows? Thanks! Otherwise I'll have to do GHOST, but I have a lot of data!

fangminye: Didn't that article explain it in detail? Just enter the WIN command to enter WIN.

kevin882: Try this command: DIR C:\BOOT.INI /A

But it is also not visible in DOS!!

In win2000, you can see boot.ini only by removing the checkmark of while is on.
In Dos, use attrib c:\boot.ini -s -h

The following is a quote from fangminye at 17:17:18 on February 2, 2004:

Same as above, check if there is a boot.ini. If there is, open it - edit - change the timeout to 10 or higher
