I have deleted one that's solved. I also want to ask you, is this method of yours applicable under the win2K system?

It can be used under Win NT/2000/XP. If you don't want to use it, you can directly delete the "Ms-dos" option in C:\boot.ini (note that this file is protected by WinXP and is a hidden file, so you need to remove its hidden attribute first) without deleting the boot.ini file. If you don't want it to be displayed at startup but only when pressing F8, similarly change Timeout from 5 to 0 in C:\boot.ini.

I formatted the C drive to FAT32 format, installed MSDOS, then installed XP on the D drive (NTFS), and finally installed System Commander, which is very useful. And after entering the DOS system on the C drive, I can perfectly use Ghost to back up and restore the subsequent partitions.

From the above, you added Dos to another partition. Is this partition a primary partition?

The partition where Dos is installed is not a primary partition. The primary partition has Windows XP installed. Why does Dos have to be installed in a primary partition? Is there any way to install Dos in a non-primary partition?

As long as your C: drive is not in NTFS format, you can use this method. This method is to make DOS and WinXP coexist in the primary partition.

Why can't I enter DOS? I have already followed the building owner's method to do it. Is it conflicting with the system? Lenovo OEM XP2

Both of the landlord's two schemes have been tried, and neither works. Probably there is no "BOOTSECT.DOS" file. I think the above methods are not all-powerful, and it may also be related to the partition software.

We've had a power outage for 4 days here. Brother upstairs, can't you succeed? Is it because your system is WinXP Sp2? I once saw that even Grub couldn't be used under some Sp2. The multiple machines I experimented with are basically Sp1.

I followed the building owner's method to install DOS, which is very exciting, but there are only some very basic commands. How can I enhance this DOS, such as DELTREE, FOR, etc.! It would be better if Chinese can be displayed! Looking forward to your reply!

In fact, most of the commands are already in the Ebd.zip archive. This Deletree is not very useful. You can completely delete all the files in the subdirectories first and then use the Rd command to delete this directory. As for For, it is an internal command. If you want to add other Dos external commands, you can download the installation disk of Ms-dos7.1 (the purpose is not to install), and copy the desired external commands into this Ebd directory.

Don't look at most of them being WINDOWS XP now, but there are still some aspects that are not satisfactory when using it. For example, adding DOS as mentioned by the person upstairs is very good, which is of great help for system maintenance. Build a personalized WINDOWS. Thanks.

As the moderator Willsort said, the above method also has limitations: first, it requires that your file system is not Ntfs, but only Fat32; second, Dos can only be installed in the primary partition.
