The full English name of DoS is Denial of Service, which means “denial of service.” Looking at the various methods of network attacks and the damage they cause, DoS counts as a very simple but also very effective attack method. Its purpose is to deny access to your services, disrupt the normal operation of an organization, and ultimately cause some of your Internet connections and network systems to fail. There are many kinds of DoS attack methods. The most basic DoS attack is to use legitimate service requests to occupy excessive service resources, so that legitimate users cannot obtain service.
We can see the basic process of a DoS attack: first the attacker sends numerous requests with fake addresses to the server. After the server sends reply information, it waits for return information. Because the addresses are forged, the server never receives the return messages, so the resources allocated to those requests are never released. After the server waits a certain amount of time, the connections are cut off due to timeout, and the attacker sends another new batch of requests. Under this repeated sending of requests with fake addresses, the server's resources are eventually exhausted. DDoS (distributed denial of service), whose full English name is Distributed Denial of Service, is a special form of denial of service attack based on DoS. It is a large-scale distributed and coordinated attack method, mainly targeting relatively large sites such as commercial companies, search engines, and government departments. From Figure 1 we can see that a DoS attack only requires one standalone machine and one modem to carry out, while DDoS attacks differ in that they use a group of controlled machines to attack one machine. This kind of fierce attack is hard to defend against, and therefore is more destructive. (Quoted from the China IT Certification Laboratory website) DOS is the English abbreviation of Disk Operating System, meaning disk operating system. It played a very important role in the development of PC computers, and at one time almost ruled the world, with many users and enthusiasts around the world. DOS has many versions and many kinds; the most commonly used is MS-DOS. The most practical is MS-DOS 7.10, while the freest and most open is FreeDOS. (Quoted from New DOS Era) |

A knife can peel an apple and it can also kill someone, so telling him is no big deal!

Most of us want to learn attack methods only so we can defend against them

Hehe, actually if you really want to learn things, then it has absolutely nothing to do with attacking or not attacking. Didn't the first person who attacked others also never study attacking before? Wasn't it still the same? Now there are more people learning attacks, and isn't it still the same?

I like DOS introductions with hacker commands the most.
I also hope the moderator will develop more in this direction. What's the difference between these two options???? I think it should develop in multiple directions. After all, hackers can only be used on the network! |
