Tried it, didn't work. But I booted into DOS using a boot disk, and didn't install DOS.

You can restart by pressing the "RESET" switch on the host, and you can power off by pressing the "POWER" switch. In DOS, I can shut down whenever I want, there's nothing that can't be done. You wouldn't be too lazy to even move your phone, would you?

In VMARE, shutdown can be used but OFF cannot. (Virtually installed DOS 7.1) However, for entering DOS by other methods (that is, fake DOS), both of the above two methods are BA COMMAND OR FILE NAME.

Back in the days of using a 386, shutting down meant just pressing the power button to OFF with a "pa" sound.

External command Shutdown, followed by S or R, where S is for shutting down and R is for restarting
