Recently, I saw a post discussing the issue of the decline in the "gold content" of the union forum (please allow me to temporarily use this "decline in gold content" to replace the word "junk" in a certain post). The main basis of the proponents is the existence of a large number of posts with zero reply rates, and thus the conclusion that it is difficult for newcomers to learn something is drawn. The reason for the opponents is that the posts are unqualified, there are too many repeated posts, junk posts, and the workload of the moderators is increased, etc. Anyway, both sides have some reason, but not entirely correct. Regarding the issue that the reply rate will affect the gold content, I came up with a solution. Whether it works or not, it's just to provide everyone with an idea.
The solution is to set up a title system for each member of the forum (the current titles of the forum feel meaningless). Then, assign corresponding obligations and rights to members with different titles (there is an obligation to answer questions for lower-level members and a right to ask questions for higher-level members). Of course, the establishment of titles should be based on one's technical level (it should be a general level of a person, and how to evaluate it needs to be discussed). In this way, the level of forum members is distributed in a step-like manner according to the titles.
The advantage of doing this is that it has a screening function for questions of different difficulty levels. After a question post appears, it is first handled by the lowest-level members to see if it can be solved. If it can, it is answered and concluded on the spot. If not, it is submitted to the next higher-level member (indicating that the difficulty of the question exceeds the processing ability of this level). In this way, difficult questions can be passed up layer by layer until they are solved, and easy questions will not waste the energy of higher-level members. The tasks are clear, and the management is also easy and convenient.
It's just a preliminary idea, and there must be some places lacking in consideration or specific implementation problems. For example: should the titles only be the level divisions within the classification sections (because the questions always have to belong to a certain category)? How many levels of titles are appropriate? How to set the titles for members. What is the basis? And many other questions need to be solved by using collective wisdom.
I've rambled so much, and it's time to stop. Hehe. I hope my idea can be helpful to the construction of our forum.
