I have used many USB flash drives to make bootable disks, but I found that most of the ones with larger capacities (above 512M) are not easy to make into bootable disks. It's not only because some making tools have capacity limitations. Once I tried to make a bootable disk with a 512M ADATA Sport Drive using FlashBootWizard to make a bootable disk with minimal DOS. When using DOS image making, it never succeeded, but it could work with the built-in FREEDOS. I found it very strange. Then I used the "Copy bootable USB disk" method (this method worked on a 1G Tsinghua Unisplendour USB flash drive), but it still didn't work. There was no way, so I found the making tool on the ADATA official website. This making tool has a requirement that a WIN98 system is needed. So I found a 98 system, made it, and then successfully entered DOS. After that, I copied my previous USB disk system into this USB flash drive, but I found that the capacity of io.sys in the root directory was different. After copying and restarting the machine, it couldn't boot from the USB flash drive. I thought it was very likely due to that io.sys. I found another io.sys of more than 200K on the Internet, copied it back to the USB flash drive, and果然 it could boot. I don't know if your USB flash drives also have this problem. Now many of the popular DOS systems on the Internet use a modified io.sys, that is, removing the win98 screen during startup, and it can also boot the win32 mini version. If friends can't make a DOS bootable disk for a USB flash drive, see if my method works. I put this io.sys here
http://hi.cech.com.cn/download/file_share_3650181.html for everyone to share. Of course, with this io.sys, the win32 mini version can't be booted, so you can decide. In addition, whether using a modified or unmodified io.sys, there are problems booting the linux system on some USB flash drives, but the small-capacity ones (256M and below) USB flash drives can. Therefore, the super USB disk system with LINUX that I am currently making has been unable to be released all the time (these LINUX: FANX and GEEXBOX can be used normally with small-capacity USB flash drives alone).
