The detailed method is as follows: first download the attachment. After extracting it there will be four files ( LoadISO.bat、SHSUCDHD.exe、SHSUCDX.exe、UnISO.bat). Set them aside for the moment, then find any boot floppy image file and open it with WinImage. Extract Autoexec.bat and edit this file with a text editor. Find the line containing MSCDEX.EXE, and add REM before that line to comment it out, because the virtual CD-ROM drive conflicts with MSCDEX.EXE and may cause the system to crash. Finally, use WinImage to add the four virtual CD-ROM files from above and the modified Autoexec.bat into the floppy image, then save it.
Then write the floppy image file to a floppy disk or make it into a bootable CD. When you need to use it, under DOS enter: LoadISO D:\ISOFile\WinXPCN.iso . The system will tell you that the virtual CD-ROM drive has been loaded and that the drive letter is E: . At that point you can access drive E, which is where the virtual CD-ROM drive is. If you need to unload the virtual CD, then run UnISO . The D:\ISOFile\WinXPCN.iso here is only an example; perhaps your CD image file is stored somewhere else, or the system may report that the loaded virtual CD-ROM drive letter is not E: . That depends on different PC specs.
Everyone can figure out more uses on their own. For example, if the CD image is on an NTFS partition, then you will need a boot disk with NTFSDOS. If you use the virtual CD-ROM drive to install an operating system, you may also need to load smartdrv. If the image is in a Chinese directory, then you may also need to add a Chinese character support system such as Tianhui or UCDOS ......and so on.
My personal suggestion is to make a disk like this: support NTFS, support Chinese display and input, and include SmartDrv. This is also the disk I am currently using myself, hehe. But in that case floppy space gets tight; even a 2.88M image can hardly solve the problem. This is how I solved it: I used an image file from the Acronis series software as the base, because that image is relatively large, four or five megabytes. Then I used WinImage to add all the files from the NTFSDOS floppy into the base floppy (whether it can still be called a floppy is open to debate), added the Tianhui Chinese character support system to enable Chinese display, added SmartDrv to speed up system installation, and added py.com to enable Chinese Pinyin input. Finally I opened the NTFSDOS floppy with WinImage and used the menu command “Image → Boot Sector Properties → Save” to save the boot sector as Loader.bin. Then I opened the base floppy with WinImage and used the menu command “Image → Boot Sector Properties → Open” to add Loader.bin into the base floppy (sorry, my WinImage is a Chinese-localized version, hehe). In that case, it can no longer be written to a floppy because it is too large, so it has to be added to a CD instead. As for how to add it to a CD, you can use software such as EZBoot, VisualBoot, and BCDW. I use BCDW myself; I like its clear-at-a-glance CD boot interface, not too flashy, hehe.
