Recently I downloaded Red Flag Linux 3.2 Desktop Edition from the Internet, and I really want to get a look at Linux, but I don't have a CD burner, so I can't burn Red Flag Linux 3.2 into a bootable CD. I hope friends who know how to install it can help me
fulfill my "Linux dream"!

Also, I hope to experience Linux by installing a virtual machine (I chose VMware 3.2), but I have absolutely no experience, so I also hope everyone can give me some advice. Many thanks! (My host system is Win 98)

VMware seems like it can only be installed on 2000 and linux, not under 98
If VMware is installed, it seems you can install from an image file

That Red Flag Linux doesn't look good

turbo linux seems to look pretty good

Under 98 you can use VPC, but I haven't tried installing LINUX. Virtual machines all support booting from an ISO image

I downloaded the turbolinux image file from the Internet and installed it into vmware
If you're installing it into vmware
By the way, let me also say how to start xwindows
First you need to release the stuff under the vmware window into the virtual linux
Then you need to create cdrom, this thing is inside cdrom, it's a compressed file
Then extract the file (you have to copy it out before extracting)
Then ./install.pl
startx
and that's it

Sorry, I'm only replying to you this late.

I downloaded
Red Flag Linux 3.2 Desktop Edition from here: ftp://ftp1.mydown.com/home1/soft34/dt32.ISO You can also go to Red Flag Linux's homepage www.redflag-linux.com/ to look for it.

Everyone is very welcome to send me some "good stuff" related to Linux, thanks!

You can also install it with Connectix Virtual PC.

Install Connectix Virtual PC, then create a virtual hard disk, then partition it, and then install it. (It's very slow, and the memory requirements are fairly high)
