How to change Windows XP to Windows 98
Could some big brother or big sister help me? My machine has XP installed. Since the machine is pretty lousy and runs too slowly, I want to change it to 98. Could you tell me how to do it? I heard it has to be done under DOS, but I'm clueless about DOS. So if some kind person can help me, I'd be extremely grateful. My email is guopengzhan@21cn.com |

If your machine uses FAT32 partitions, just find a WIN98 boot disk, format it, and then install WIN98.
Use a WIN98 boot disk, or find a boot disk here on the forum, to boot up. If under DOS you can see the files and folders on the hard disk, then you're using FAT32 format. If it's in NTFS format, you need to back up your important files first, then use PartitionMagic to convert the partition back to FAT32 format, and then format it and install WIN98. |
