One day I saw the update notice on the Qibu website, so I decided to burn the stuff on the site onto a CD. To save space, I compressed everything, but when I wanted to install DOS 7.10 (NewDOS), what I downloaded was the full CD installation edition,
the CD file (.iso) is inside a .rar archive in my CD file folder. So let me ask:
Can I still use this CD to install DOS7??
How can I read the contents of the iso file onto the hard disk? Is there any software for reading iso files?

My machine is a pure DOS machine.
Also, I'd like to ask everyone to help me find the highest versions of zip for dos and arj for dos.
And I'd also like to ask about software and usage methods for putting large batches of .img files onto the hard disk.

One more question: since rar has such a high compression ratio, why are img files still used??

Exactly. Right now I want to burn it onto a CD and use it, but I don't even know which one is the actual ISO. What I downloaded was in ZIP format, and after extracting it there are five or six ISOs, without even a decent explanation~

Why is no one answering? I once searched on baidu and found something called undisker (ver 1.1 ,,ver1.2), but they're all Windows versions. It can extract iso files. Could it be that no one developed one for dos before??
Thanks, experts

If you don't want to burn it, then use the floppy disk edition:

Installation disk 2:http://newdos.yginfo.net/dosware/dos71_2.zip

Kill me now~wwuwuwu
It's not just the DOS7.1 iso, I also have the Chinese Paladin iso (15mb), and the The Legend of Swordman iso (n_mb). Is there really no expert in the world who can develop a DOS version of it?

IMG/ISO are disk image files, not compressed files, so there is no issue of compression ratio.

If you want to read ISO images under pure DOS, try SHSUCDHD.

WINRAR can extract ISO files, and it also includes DOS command-line tools.

Those software packages were originally floppy-disk versions. The makers of pirated CDs directly used HD-COPY to save the floppy disks as IMG image files and put them in. So they're full of IMG files.
UNDISKP can extract all the IMG files at once.
