I'm truly very grateful, I've decided to burn them onto a CD.
(By the way, under DOS 6.22, how should autoexec.bat and config.sys be set up so they can support a CD-ROM drive?)

Also, what if I use dual hard drives?

Not too sure—what exactly do you mean by burning what onto a CD?

But is your DOS version really that old? Please upgrade DOS to MS-DOS 7.10, it can automatically configure the CD-ROM drive and so on:

Oh, I meant, this morning I burned some of the software from (Qibu website) and (your new DOS), and then I was getting ready to reinstall the system. My current machine is second-hand, with pure DOS 6.22 (later I installed DOS 7.1, but some software in it can't be used because it can't recognize it). This year when I go back to school, I'm planning to buy a 1.0GB hard drive and a CD-ROM drive.
1)I want to know under what system DOS can use a CD-ROM drive, what drivers are needed, and how to configure it
2)How should dual hard drives and the CD-ROM drive be installed, and how should autoexec.bat and config.sys be configured

I'm buying dual hard drives because I want to install two operating systems, and use the other hard drive for experiments. How should I boot, and what software is needed??

My machine only has DOS, no Windows. Please help, experts! Thanks

1. To use a CD-ROM drive under DOS, you need a CD-ROM driver and an MSCDEXE.EXE
config.cfg should have device=x:\oakcdrom.sys /d:cdrom001
autoexec.bat should have x:\mscdex.exe /d:cdrom001
oakcdrom.sys and mscdex.exe are on the Win98 boot disk; on some disks MSCDEX.EXE may be inside EBD.CAB
(of course besides OAKCDROM.SYS there are other drivers you can choose)

There's one thing to pay attention to here!!
cdrom001 is the device name. You can choose this name yourself; it's best to use an uncommon one, because once this string is used as a device name, other files and directories cannot have the same name. If there is a duplicate name, then you won't be able to perform any operation on that file and/or directory.

2. For dual hard drives and a single hard drive, no software settings are needed

The best multi-operating-system boot loader I've seen is SYSTEM COMMANDER
