How can I back up directories created under the Windows environment in DOS? The directories may contain long filenames, system files, hidden files, multi-level subdirectories, etc.
At least xcopy won't do it. |

98 doesn't have the TREE command, copy over a TREE.COM from DOS6.22
attrib -s -r -h c:\*.* /s tree /f c: > d:\1.txt |

Man, I mean backing up the entire directory including the files. Not just the directory structure.

I also tried some software called Xclone. It said it seemed very easy to use, but actually it doesn't support long filenames.
There was also something called LCOPY in some LFN TOOL, but it doesn't work on my DOS7.1. Are there any other DOS tools I can use? |

DOS6.22 seems to have something called MSBACKUP,
Also, won't ghost work? |

You can use PKZIP.EXE under DOS to do this. For the specific method, please search for similar posts I made on the forum.

LCOPY is usable and supports English long filenames, but note that it does not support Chinese long filenames. Don't use MSBACKUP and the like, because they do not support long filenames.
