Whenever people talk about driving USB devices under DOS, they all mention a file called guest.exe.
What exactly is this file for? Where can it be found? Or downloaded?
Because I still haven't been able to get my external USB CD-ROM enclosure working, and I seem to remember seeing a post mentioning it,
so I'm asking for help.
Thanks in advance!!!

This program is a driver for SCSI hard disks. After USBASPI is loaded, it can be used to drive some USB hard disks and other USB devices, similar to DI1000DD.SYS. But its compatibility is not very good either; on my system it hangs as soon as I use it, while DI1000DD.SYS can successfully drive my USB flash drive.

Hello Moderator Wengier!

I have an external USB CD-ROM enclosure, made by Taiwan CA.
It can be driven normally under Win9x.
In the Win9x system's "Device Manager", its description is: ST3WOLF SCSI Controller .
I want to drive it under DOS. Using the MS-DOS 7.10 super boot disk, when loading duse.exe, it assigned two drive letters to the USB interface.
But after startup is completed, they still cannot be accessed, and it says the drive letter is "invalid".
I also tried some of the solutions mentioned on the forum, but none worked.
So that made me think of that guest.exe file.
Since its compatibility is rather poor, can the two files you mentioned be used instead?

I read an article that seemed to say that the USB drivers under DOS are all USB specifically for DOS

most of the ones commonly used on the market can't be driven by DOS
