Why does my machine power on by itself? Here's what happened: I shut it down last night, and after about 5 or 6 minutes, the computer powered on by itself again. I tried several times and it was like this every time. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm really in a hurry!!
My machine is a c41.7, the motherboard is msi845emax, and the graphics card is Colorful gf4, 64m, the memory is Kingston 256ddr. The hard drive is a Seagate 80G. Please help me, everyone!! |

First check the power-related options in the BIOS settings. Also see if there is any strong interfering equipment nearby; just observe whether the brightness of the light bulb changes.
Another possibility is what the poster above said: damage to the power-related filter circuit. |

There is no problem in the BIOS. I don't know what CMOS is?
Also, could it be some kind of virus infection? If so, is there any way to deal with it? If it's a power supply problem then I can only find someone to repair it |

You don't know what CMOS settings are?
Go back and read your motherboard manual. |

Another possibility is whether Wake-on-LAN was enabled in the CMOS, so when there is signal on the phone line it powers on automatically.
