Just like Linux, DOS redevelopment also needs a group. I’m very glad to see the country’s largest Chinese DOS forum becoming more and more prosperous day by day, and I sincerely feel delighted. With the New Year approaching, I wish this forum gets better and better!!!
I’m a system enthusiast. I originally did in-depth research on Linux, and found that especially in China, DOS actually has more development potential than Linux. The vast majority of computer users can still say a thing or two about DOS, but when it comes to Linux they can only shake their heads and give up.
For Linux to make it onto the desktop, it will take at least another 10 years. But DOS is different. DOS’s popularity in the world is beyond that of any operating system, and besides that there is also a huge accumulation of experience and memories. It can be said with certainty that if some experts take the lead, DOS is entirely capable of following a development path similar to Linux. The key lies in how we enthusiasts position its future. I personally think the best initial positioning for DOS is only as a disk maintenance platform with a user-friendly interface, and then to further research its protected mode, break through the 640K memory limit, make a GUI, and of course Chinese-localizing SEAL2.0 would not be impossible either. I’m starting this off here; anyone willing to jointly redevelop DOS, please leave your E-mail.

Exactly, DOS stands for freedom, openness, and development. If we don’t vigorously develop it, that would really be too much of a pity. Isn’t that so?
