You don't need to use DOS. The MINIX disks are bootable, then just follow the English instructions, it's easy to install.
I've only installed it once in a virtual machine, so I don't remember the exact installation process clearly.

Installing MINIX is just for the novelty, right...
I also want to install OS/2 just for the novelty, to see whether it's good to use, but I don't know how to install it on a hard disk... you can't expect me to actually make 23 disks to install it, can you...
