People who are just starting to use computers can easily accidentally delete files under C:\, and reinstalling the system for that reason is just too not worth it.

There are quite a few undelete tools that support long filenames, such as UNERASE 95/97/2000/2002 for DOS, UNDELETE (not the one that comes with DOS 6, but another much newer one), etc. They're all pretty good.

Where can I download these programs? Is unerase a standalone program or the one in NORTON? As for the one in NORTON (2000/2002), I don't know whether it's because of my machine or some other reason, but it gives an error when restoring.

If you use UNERASE 95 in Norton 95, there won't be any problem, and it supports long filenames too. UNERASE 2002 seems to have some problems.
