Could you explain it a bit more clearly?

To be honest, I'd really like to know too. Anyone who knows, please say. I've mostly used 98, and have had very little contact with XP and 2000...

Right-click the drive you want to format, and "Format" will appear.

Under XP,
you can format anything except itself.

For example: to format drive D, right-click the D drive letter as shown here

Click "Format" and choose the file system format, either NTFS or FAT32, as shown here

Click "Start" to complete formatting drive D

Note: you must exit all programs currently running on drive D

Good luck!!!

If you want to format drive C, you can boot into DOS to format it, or boot from the CD and enter XP repair mode.

If drive C is FAT32, then you can boot into DOS to format C, but if it's NTFS then it won't work. Oh right! You can use PQ software! My level is limited, that's all I can say.

Use a Win98 disc! Boot into DOS, then format it. Of course, what post #11 said is right: it only works if it's FAT32. Otherwise you can only use PQ to format it. Under XP there's no way to format drive C. I've tried it N times.
