I used the DOS 7.10 boot disk made by the site admin to boot the machine—it automatically loaded the long filename driver. But why are the long filenames still showing only 8 characters? ——— The characters in the middle are replaced by “~”. Please advise, thanks!

I just read the relevant post and now I understand. Hehe, a newbie is still a newbie after all!
