Source question: How to call the traditional Chinese character font in TW?
I can easily display traditional Chinese characters with UCDOS, but the display performance of UCDOS is unstable. I like TWAY but can't make it work.
I modified TWAY.INI and added the traditional Chinese character font of TW3.0 or UCDOS, but it didn't help. Please help everyone.
I have decompressed TWAY with UPX and haven't analyzed it yet. If everyone has solved it, a bootable disk for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan DOS enthusiasts with a size of 200K will be born.

After my own research, the above problem has been solved. The following software is released for everyone to share:

Tianhui 3.1 Traditional Chinese Version

Everyone likes "Tianhui Chinese Character System 3.1 Pocket Edition" because it is small (only more than 200K) and has only one file (TW.EXE), and it is powerful and has strong compatibility, which is very suitable to be placed in the bootable disk.
But unfortunately, it is only in the simplified Chinese version because the original designer didn't release the traditional Chinese version. But with the increasing frequent exchanges between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, not having the traditional Chinese version has increasingly become an obstacle.
After my transformation (the main link is: grafting the traditional Chinese character font of TW3.0), the traditional Chinese version of TW3.1 has finally been successfully produced.
"The TW3.1 Traditional Chinese Version" will be used in my works, such as the "Super Emergency Disk (Traditional Chinese Version)" and "GHOST2003 Bootable Disk (Traditional Chinese Version)" that will be released in a few days, etc.
I hope to get valuable opinions.

                      2004.2.7
gmy@0451.com

There is another unclear question, that is, can the "Traditional Chinese WIN98 Bootable Disk" run the TW Traditional Chinese Version? (The simplified Chinese WIN98 Bootable Disk can run). If not, please make it into an IMG (only 3 core files are needed) and upload it for everyone to study together.

Download address: http://doshome.com/tools/twt.zip

According to the suggestion of Lion King, the master version of TW3.1 adopts the latest Computer News special version (97-01-01 final version)

                2004.2.24

Supplement: To achieve the above functions, please install the full version of Tianhui. The slim version (only one file) does not have this function. Remember!

Re: Kinglion
I have used TW 3.1 Special Edition for Computer News, but it didn't work.
In addition, the fully version of TW 3.0 downloaded at the beginning, just running TW.EXE, there are 9 out of 10 times of system crash, not to mention whether the traditional Chinese library has restrictions.

To gmy:
It is suggested that you use the full version of Tianhui 3.1, which contains the traditional Chinese font library files. The so-called Computer Newspaperman special version you mentioned may also be a streamlined version, and the streamlined version cannot achieve traditional Chinese display. In addition, the Tianhui system cannot be copied; it must be installed using the installation program to be used because there is a hardware identification code of the installed machine in the main Tianhui program. I have several sets of the full version of the Tianhui system, but unfortunately, the capacity is too large to upload to the forum. Please use search engines such as BAIDU to search online.

Such a traditional Chinese version is more suitable for mainland compatriots who have a sense of affinity for traditional Chinese characters.

First of all, for people in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, it is not a big problem to read simplified Chinese characters. Simplified Chinese characters have existed since ancient times and are widely spread. They are not created by the Communist Party of XX, but just "standardized", burying the "non-standard" simplified writing methods in the dictionary.

On the contrary, Hong Kong and Taiwan enthusiasts using such a GB traditional Chinese version on their own computers can't tell a cow from a horse.

Also, the Chinese character input methods used by people in Hong Kong and Taiwan do not use Wubi, nor do they use Pinyin, but mostly Zhuyin or Cangjie code. Since it is a boot disk made for them, their habits should be taken care of first. Don't be like AW97, which, on the one hand, solves the GBK code problem for people, and on the other hand, requires users to only use Pinyin and pictographic code input methods.

I think that if making a traditional Chinese boot disk, one should use the Chinese system in Esun or Traditional Chinese WIN98, or use the double-code CCDOS97, in short, truly support BIG-5 code.

I'm sorry....interrupting......
There is no Chinese system in traditional Windows 98...Damn M$...showing partiality!

MYS makes sense. I downloaded Yitian, and it might not be installable. If possible (Yitian is not encrypted), please release a Yitian streamlined version (main program + Zhuyin input method + Cangjie).

In addition, the "BIG5-ization" work is too difficult. Both text and programs need to be done, and it can't be completed by one person in a short time. Please ask Roy and other compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to support. I found an "English-Simplified-Traditional Chinese parallel dictionary", which might be useful. http://jjhou.csdn.net/terms.htm

In addition, regarding input methods, UCDOS provides two Cangjies, CJJ.IMD and CJF.IMD (don't know which one to choose), and then a series of conversions can be used to specially create a Cangjie input method for TW. What do you think?

Lao Ge: Provide you with a little clue, see if it can be helpful?

Software name: Automatically make Windows 98 or 95 emergency boot disk program v1.0
File name: Ebd.zip or Ebd.exe
File size: 46KB
File note: Author: Wen Wen
Software introduction: As the name implies, this set of software is a program for making Windows 95/98 emergency boot disks! Since the software is developed by domestic people, the interface is all displayed in Chinese! The emergency boot disk made by this program is more complete than the emergency boot disk provided by win95 itself! Are you still using the emergency boot disk of win95? Try the emergency boot disk made by this software quickly! Slime strongly recommends ^_^

Yitian Chinese characters are not encrypted and can also be streamlined, but it's not certain whether it supports FAT32 or DOS7. I once bought a Wubi input method for use in the Yitian Chinese character system, which was installed on a 1.2M floppy disk. There was a streamlined Yitian in it. Unfortunately, I have deleted it, leaving only a few files. There is a full-screen editor in繁体version, which is very similar to ASE in China Dragon. Now I will upload it.

The Yitian Chinese character system can of course run under FAT32 and the most compatible MS-DOS 7.10. How could it not work? However, there is really an old game (from 1994) that cannot run under MS-DOS 7.10, nor under MS-DOS 6.22, FreeDOS, etc., but can only run under ROM-DOS 7.10 (as per my test).

The full version of Tianhui has a special setup program, and it's too troublesome to modify manually

Please ask the owner to modify the main file of Tianhui 3.1 Final Edition (96-12-31) and add the traditional Chinese character font library. The version you uploaded is the 96-12-25 version. The file of the 96-12-31 version is available in the forum.

RE:Kinglion
I don't know what the so-called final version is, whether it's 230K. My version is only a little over 200K. I don't know what the difference is?
