My machine is a C41.7 + MSI845EMAX motherboard, and the sound card is onboard.
I'm running WIN2000. There's a problem: after booting up and running for a while, I find that the speakers stop making sound.
It's the same whether I'm listening to music or playing a CD. After a while it works again (the time isn't fixed, sometimes very fast, sometimes very slow).
After restarting it's fine again,
but the above problem keeps repeating.
I don't know what to do, so I'm posting this here and hope everyone can help me,

First try switching to another system (such as windows98, etc.). Also connect the speakers to someone else's computer and see whether there's any problem. If the speakers have no problem when connected to someone else's computer, and under windows98 or other systems your problem still appears, then you can go get the motherboard repaired. Give it a try!

There's no problem in 98, and the speakers are fine too. But my classmate and I share an ADSL connection to go online. I installed XP and found that I couldn't connect to his machine (he's using win2000). The hardware is fine, so could it be a settings problem? Can you help me try?

In WIN2000, if I open winapm and something like Jinshan Jiebai, then after a while the sound is gone. If I don't open them, then nothing much happens.

You can reinstall the system (windows2000), and before installing software, test whether there's still a problem. Or try another version, then you'll know what the problem is.

wk, I want to ask you something. My machine is running XP, and my classmate is using 2000. Do you know how to connect them? We're using ADSL connected to a HUB. I've tried many times and just can't get them connected, though using them together to go online works. It'd be best if you could explain in more detail, thanks,
