The original system was 98
Later there were some problems, so I used ghost to restore it
It crashed halfway through the restore, and now the hard disk won't boot
Booting with dos7.1 says "ntldr miss"
I formatted the floppy under win2k. What's the best way to fix this?

Just copy an NTLDR file from elsewhere to the root directory of C: and that should solve it.

First use the Super Universal MSDOS 7.1 boot disk to boot into DOS, and make sure to select NTFS support .

Then, under DOS, copy the NTLDR file to drive C:.

This NTLDR file can be copied from another windows 2000 machine.

I formatted the floppy under win2k. What's the best way to fix this?

A floppy formatted in Win2k will automatically get Win2k's DBR boot sector, while the DOS 7.1 boot disk does not have Win2k's boot files, so this method is wrong...
The correct method is to directly use WinImage (or hdcopy, kingcopy, etc.) to copy the image to the floppy
Somehow somewhere I've got to choose.
No matter if it is win or lose.

Many thanks to all the posters above, looks like this can't be done under win2k.
Recently I was planning to set up my old junk PC again to play with DOS, but I have no idea where that P100 CPU got tossed to
Annoying

叫我Jorkin或小p就行,别再叫playboy2925了,跟提犯人似的。
如果认为小弟发的logo不错的话,给朵鲜花我就知道了。:)

Hehe... Recently I dug out a pile of scrap paper from the "treasure chest," opened it up, and found an 80486DX2 !!
Somehow somewhere I've got to choose.
