When I was reinstalling the WINDOWS system, after the system self-check it said that there was not enough conventional memory, and the installer could not continue. Please free conventional memory under MS-DOS. How do I free conventional memory under MS-DOS?

If you first boot into DOS and then install the WINDOWS system, then when booting DOS do not load those unnecessary memory-resident programs. If it still says there is not enough memory, please first copy the installation files to the hard disk, then modify the CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files so that only the required programs are loaded, and then try installing again.
Suggested CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=HIMEM.SYS DEVICE=EMM386.EXE RAM AUTO FILES=40 DOS=HIGH,UMB Suggested AUTOEXEC.BAT @ECHO OFF LH SMARTDRV.EXE /X If this still does not solve the problem, I suggest you scan for viruses first! If there is anything inappropriate, please correct me! |
